Sabbatical Journey

Since I left college, my summer has never been without a job. I’ve worked immediately after college with a short 2 week vacation. The best ever vacation. One which I will always remember.

I never want to forget this

If we were not human, would we know what taste, smell, sound, and sight? And if we lost touch and only retained conscious, are we still human? Or just a mind without experience?

Joy

I have had this topic joy for several months and have never been able to tackle it until now. My main concern with the word joy is whether or not it is a product of the first world? I think yes and no. Joy from watching the latest HBO show or getting the newest iPhone…

2015 Year in Retrospective

As the year rolls to the end, I had to remind myself that I’ve been neglecting my blog for half a year!

Meet Me In Switzerland

Switzerland has never been on my list of countries to visit, since I don’t enjoy the cold. I prefer warm weather, old buildings, history and romance, or blazing sun on white sand beach with warm teal water. And since the country is in fact surrounded by the Alps, it didn’t seem like the most seasonable…

Goals for 30

My goals for 30 are simple mostly because I want to enjoy life spontaneously and not constantly with a planned out list. If you don’t know me by now, I love lists. I love making them, checking them off, re-reading them. When I feel lost or bored with life, I go back to my lists…

If I were…

As I am nearing the end of my writing challenge, I find myself blocked. It’s one of those insanely awful road block for the creative mind. And worse, work has completely fried my brain for the week. So to keep up with some creativity, I always do some writing practicing, using metaphors to create a…

Food I couldn’t live without

When I joked to my boyfriend that he may be allergic to dairy, the Italian in him vehemently protested. “Life is not worth living without cheese,” he bemoaned dramatically. It had me thinking, what would be the food I couldn’t live without? I love food but I have 2 allergies that prevent me from eating…

13 Places to Eat in 2013

I know I should be worrying about my weight and waist size but I can’t give up food. I just have to work out twice as hard so that I can try out all these awesome food eateries! It’s New York, a place where I can have Thai food for breakfast and pancakes for dinner….

List: Karaoke night

Is it too stereotypical to say Asians love karaoke? Almost every Cambodian family I knew growing up in the Khmer community had a karaoke machine with those HUGE LP’s. Needless to say, every Khmer party was not complete without food (noodles, pra-hok, or hot pot), card playing, and of course, music, meaning karaoke. Sometimes I…

List: Flowers I Love

I love flowers. I adore the smell, the feel, and its beauty that last so minutely in a span of our life. Once plucked, it withers and shrivels, disintegrating back into the earth it came out of. But even without touching, it’s just likely to die like all life on earth. Yet, I am enthralled…

Bucket List (revised) 2012

We’ve all made bucket list, mentally or physically. We may even buy books about “1000 Places to Visit Before You Die” or do as many crazy things as possible if we are to live so short. I made one when I was younger and the list went on and on and on. As time passed…

2012 Resolutions

A new year, a new start, new goals to aim for. Realistic goals. They are always saying, make sure you make realistic achievable goals that YOU can strive to fulfill. Saying you’ll lose 100 lbs is not achievable if you don’t exercise or only go to the gym one month. It’s a commitment and willingness…

2011 Resolutions in Retrospect

What a year! 2011 has been a decent year, if not a busy social year indeed. I always say that I’m anti-social but I find myself going out every week whether it’s to meet friends for dinner, drinks, or just to go see a movie! But I was conscientious about the goals I set for…

Top 10 with Future BF

I was watching My Lovely Kim Samsoon and towards the end when she and Sam Shik ended up together, she said she had top 7 things to do when she has an official boyfriend. And because he loved her, he did everything for her. Awwww

My Perfectly Imperfect Man

Ever consider making the perfect man? What would the recipe be like? How would it taste like? If he’s risky and outgoing, would he be tangy? If he’s hot and vivacious, would he be spicy? For awhile, I really thought that the type of food you like to eat could dictate the person you would…
