Empty Compliments and Empty Pockets

I always believed that love would be enough to keep a relationship binding. I believed that if I loved him enough, maybe even more a smidgeon more than him, I could keep the relationship together. I would shower him with compliments, praises, and gifts, and all my love. Isn’t that what all the movies have shown?

But as I grew up and had my own relationships and watched others’ relationship, I started to see that love is never enough. It’s enough only during the happy and stable moments. But what happens when you are in a financial strait or emotional trauma?

DragonCon Day 3

DragonCon 2013

Technically, Sunday is our last day at DragonCon as flying back to NYC on Monday can be hellish if you need to return to work the next day as I’ve learnt the year before. So to finish the last day, I woke up early to a quiet morning as most of the attendees are still fast asleep from a night of geeky and nerdy debauchery.

DragonCon Day 2

DragonCon Parade

Day 2, the Saturday before Labor Day is the annual Dragoncon parade! The locals, children, and freaks and geeks come out to masquerade on the street and bask in the glory of costumes and nerdy celebrities! This is definitely a big thing that Atlantians love and loathe but mostly love. Locals are excited to serve us in restaurants, stop us for costume photos, and can’t stop talking about what they’ve seen.

DragonCon Day 1

DragonCon 2013

DragonCon officially starts on Friday. I thought would be a good idea to arrive a day early so that I could take a drive through Atlanta. But alas, this year, everyone arrived Thursday, which made for bad travels and movements throughout Atlanta. Last year, even when I woke up to go to the gym, nary a person in sight but this year, it was half full. I thought maybe its a fluke.

Move to Astoria

Finally, moved into to my own apartment!

I used to live alone for a long time. For over 4 years in fact and loved every moment of it. When the opportunity arose that my old college roommate needed a roommate in her parents house, I moved in, giving up much of my autonomy, but enjoyed her company and having our dogs as playmates.

Goals for 30

Bucket List

My goals for 30 are simple mostly because I want to enjoy life spontaneously and not constantly with a planned out list. If you don’t know me by now, I love lists. I love making them, checking them off, re-reading them. When I feel lost or bored with life, I go back to my lists and re-focus.
