Corning’s Wineglass Marathon

Corning Marathon
The day of the race was dark and damp. Dawn barely cracked open her eyes as we mustered our way toward the village of Bath. Dense fog from the mountains rolled onto the highway, only 100 feet or so in front of us was visible in pitch black dawn.

Onwards to Geneva Street, we found Phillips Glass (after a few roundabouts unsure why Google map kept saying it was at the Family Dollar store) where several runners were prepping and boarding buses. A half marathon and a full marathon bus were carting off loads of runners to their starting point.

Traveling to Corning, NY

Corning, NY
September is like the worst month of the year. It’s the final quarter of work, the weather fluctuates between cold and hot, and the sun grows less by the day. I have always found September to be a miserable month of returning to the drudgery of habitual life. DragonCon Day 2

DragonCon Parade

DragonCon Day 1

DragonCon 2013

DragonCon officially starts on Friday. I thought would be a good idea to arrive a day early so that I could take a drive through Atlanta. But alas, this year, everyone arrived Thursday, which made for bad travels and movements throughout Atlanta. Last year, even when I woke up to go to the gym, nary a person in sight but this year, it was half full. I thought maybe its a fluke.

First 5k Run

5k

When I was 12, I was in a car accident. I broke my hip and was in a body cast for almost 4 months. When I recovered, it took an extra 4 months of physical therapy and even taking a special Charm class to learn to walk without a limp. Once in awhile, when the weather changes, it would hurt so much that limping is e only way to get me across a room.
