June 18 was our first CSA pick-up EVER. It was rather exciting seeing all these buckets of fresh vegetables. Everyone had a selection of veggies to pick out. And I stood there thinking, I must be way over my head thinking I can cook all this vegetable for an entire week.

Baked Quail over Chickpeas, Beans, and Asparagus Shavings
I went a little crazy at the food market today. One should never to go to the grocery on an empty stomach because you leave with an empty wallet. Craving everything, I bought quails despite the cost. They used to be cheaper and more came in a package. This time, only 4 was in the package. I felt a little cheated since the meat are so little. Nonetheless, I do love the taste, especially cooked right, so I had a craving for them.

Snow Crab and Asparagus Risotto
I am one of those typical Asians who grew up eating rice all my life. I could not imagine not having rice for an entire week. When I went to Italy for over two weeks, all I had was pasta and meat and I was getting homesick and tired of the food. When I finally got to Venice, I tried the seafood risotto at the famous Antico Dolo. It was like home all over again! Granted, the rice grains were short and al dente and it had that cheesy butter taste, it was still great to have rice again.
